The Beit Midrash was established and is supported by
Yeshivat Har Etzion as part of their wish to encourage progress in
women’s Torah education. As a part of this, the Beit Midrash is under
the constant supervision of the Roshei Yeshiva. Rav Lichtenstein delivers a
weekly Talmud lecture to the most advanced students of the Beit Midrash.
Rav Lichtenstein was born in France and educated in the United States. He
was given rabbinical ordination by his teacher Rabbi Yosef Dov
Soloveitchik, z”l, in Yeshiva University. At the same time, Rav
Lichtenstein earned his doctorate in English Literature from
Harvard University. He is
committed to intensive Torah study, and articulates a worldview that embraces modernity, reflecting the
tradition of his teacher and father-in-law, Rabbi Joseph B.
Soloveitchik, zt"l. In 1971, Rav Lichtenstein answered Rav
Amital's request to join him at the helm of the Yeshiva. Recently,
a series of books of “Shiurei Rav Lichtenstein” on different
topics has started to be published.
Rav Yehuda Amital,
shlit"a
A Hungarian survivor of the Holocaust, Rav Amital
immigrated to Israel in 1944, and resumed his yeshiva studies in
Jerusalem. During the War of Independence, he served in the Hagana
armored corps, taking part in the famous battle of Latrun.
Subsequently, he took an active role in the development of
Yeshivat Hadarom, where he was involved in the formulation of the
idea of yeshivat hesder. Following the Six Day War, Rav
Amital founded and assumed leadership of Yeshivat Har Etzion. He
is a dominant public figure in Israel who is widely respected on
matters of religious and national concern.

Mrs. Esti Rosenberg
Mrs. Esti
Rosenberg emigrated from the U.S. to Israel at the age of six,
when her father, Rav Aharon Lichtenstein, assumed the position of
Rosh Yeshivat Har Etzion. She studied in Chorev, Michlalah
Yerushalayim, and MaTaN. She also holds a B.A. in History and
Hebrew Literature from Hebrew University. Esti founded the Beit
Midrash in 1997 and in addition to serving as Rosh Beit Midrash,
she teaches Torah Lishmah and Parashat Shavua. She also lectures
in many forums on the importance of women's Torah study as a means
to strengthening their Avodat Hashem and observance of mitzvot,
and as a means of developing their role in the Jewish community.
Mrs.
Nomi Adler studied in various Batei Midrash for women for eight
years (MaTaN, Bruria, and Migdal Oz) and holds a B.A. in Oral Law
and Computer Science from Bar-Ilan University. Nomi joined the
Beit Midrash in 2002 and currently serves as Ra"Mit. In addition, she
continues her studies in Rav Lichtenstein's Talmud class.
Rav Ze'ev Friedman

Ze’ev Friedman is an alumnus of Yeshivat Hakotel and of Kollel
Eretz Chemda. Rav Ze’ev taught for thirteen years
at the yeshiva high school “Mekor Chaim” in Kfar Etzion, and
currently serves as Ra"M in Migdal Oz and teaches Talmud and
Midrash.
Rav Meir Nehorai
Rav
Meir Nehorai is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion. In 1991, Rav
Meir started teaching in Yeshivat Hakibbutz Hadati, which is
located on kibbutz Ein Tzurim, and at the same time served as the
rabbi of Moshav Massuot Yitzchak. In 1997, he served as the rabbi
of the Bnei Akiva movement in England for two years. From 1999 on,
Rav Meir has served as a Ra"M in Migdal Oz, where he teaches
Talmud and Halacha. At the same time, he continues to serve as
rabbi of Moshav Massuot Yitzchak, and as a member of the Tzohar
rabbinic movement.
Rav Yehoshua Reiss
Rav
Yehoshua Reiss is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion, where he received rabbinical ordination. Rav Shuki
received a B.A. in history from the Open University, and an M.A. in
history from Hebrew University. Rav Shuki teaches Tanach in Herzog College,
as well as Talmud and Tanach in Migdal Oz. He is currently working
on a doctorate in Tanach.
Rav
Amnon Bazak studied at the Jerusalem yeshiva high school “Netiv
Meir”, and came to Yeshivat Har Etzion in 1985. He served in the
hesder program as part of the army rabbinate, received rabbinical
ordination, and earned a B.Ed. from The Yaakov Herzog College. Rav Bazak
served as a Ra”M in Netiv Meir, and from 1999 on as a Ra”M in
Yeshivat Har Etzion. He is the editor of the journal “Shabbat
B’Shabbato” as well as other books. Currently, Rav Bazak
serves as Ra”M of Shiur Bet in the yeshiva, and teaches Tanach
in Herzog College, as well as Introduction to Oral Law in
Migdal Oz.
Rav Sraya Carmeli

Sraya Carmeli is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion, as well as of
Mercaz Harav. In the past he has served as a Ra"M in the Beit
Midrash, and currently teaches Midrash.
Rav Aviezer Cohen
Rav
Aviezer Cohen studied at Yeshivat Torah V’Emunah for five years,
and in Beit Morasha for four years. Rav Aviezer teaches
Jewish Philosophy in Migdal Oz.
Rav Baruch Gigi
Rav
Baruch Gigi came to Israel from Morocco at age 11, and joined
Yeshivat Har Etzion in 1975. He received rabbinical ordination
from the yeshiva, and a B.Ed. from The Yaakov Herzog College. In 1983-1988,
Rav Gigi served as Ra”M and Rosh Kollel in the Maalot Hesder
Yeshiva, and from 1988 on, as a Ra”M in Yeshivat Har Etzion. Rav
Gigi currently teaches Hilchot Shabbat in the yeshiva Kollel
Halacha. In addition, he is also the rabbi of the Sephardic shul
in Alon Shvut, and teaches Talmud and Jewish Law in the Beit Midrash in Migdal Oz, as
well as in the Rabbinic Advocate program in the Ohr Torah
institutions.
Rav Tamir Granot

Tamir Granot was born in Kiryat Motzkin and is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har
Etzion. Rav Tamir serves as
a Ra"M in Michlelet Bruria, and teaches Jewish Philosophy and the
teachings of Rav A. I. Kook in Migdal Oz.
Rav Yonatan Grossman

Yonatan Grossman is
an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion and hold a B.Ed. from Herzog
College. He has accompanied the Beit Midrash from its founding,
and has served as a Ra"M, in addition to teaching Tanach and
Machshava. To date, he is studying in Bar-Ilan towards a doctorate
in Tanach, and teaches Tanach and Chassidut in the Beit Midrash.
Rav Dan Hauser
Rav Dan
Hauser is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion. He teaches Chassidut
in the Beit Midrash as well as at other post-high school institutions.
Rav Yaakov Medan
Rav
Medan studied at the Jerusalem yeshiva high school “Netiv
Meir” and came to Yeshivat Har Etzion in 1968 as part of its
first class. He served in the hesder program as part of the
Armored Corps, after which he returned to the yeshiva and started
serving as a Ra”M. He received rabbinical ordination from
Yeshivat Har Etzion, a B.Ed. from the Michlalah in Bayit Vegan,
and an M.A. from Touro College. Rav Medan teaches Tanach in
Yeshivat Har Etzion, as well as in many yeshivot and colleges all
over Israel, and is considered one of the most prominent
authorities in the study of Tanach. In 2000, Rav Medan was a
member of the administration of the Neeman Commission’s
conversion program, and at the same time, along with Professor
Ruth Gavison, composed the “Foundation
for a New Social Pact between Religious and Secular Jews in
Israel,” and was awarded the Avi Chai Prize in 2001. Rav Medan
currently serves as a Ra"M for Shiur Bet in the yeshiva,
teaches Tanach and Machshava in Yeshivat Har Etzion, as well as in
Herzog College, the Machon Hagavoha Letorah adjoining Bar-Ilan
University, Migdal Oz, and in many other institutions. He also is
in the process of completing a doctorate in Bar-Ilan University.
Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon
Rav Yosef
Zvi Rimon is an alumnus of Yeshivat Har Etzion, and has served as
a Ra"M there since 1995. In 2000 he headed the Kollel Halacha
in the yeshiva, and published "Shiurei Shevi'it," a book
discussing the laws of Shmittah. To date, Rav Rimon serves as the
rabbi of a synagogue in Alon Shvut, and at the same time as a
Ra"M of first-year students of Yeshivat Har Etzion. In
addition, he has authored many study guides in different subjects,
and teaches in Herzog College as well as in Migdal Oz.
Mrs. Nili Samet
Mrs. Nili Samet studied Tanach for six years at Midreshet
Lindenbaum and at Migdal Oz. She holds a B.Ed. from Herzog College
and is currently completing an M.A. Nili came to
Migdal Oz in 1997 as a madricha, and currently serves as a teacher
of Tanach and Taamei Hamikra.
Rav Dov Singer
Rav Dov
Singer studied at Yeshivat Hakotel, as well as under Rav Yosef Dov
Soloveitchik, Rav S.G. Rosenberg, and Rav Adin Steinzaltz. Rav Dov
currently serves as Rosh Yeshiva of the yeshiva high school
"Mekor Chaim" in Kfar Etzion, and in addition, teaches
Chassidut in the Beit Midrash as well as at other institutions.
Rav Moshe Taragin

Moshe Taragin joined Yeshivat Har Etzion in 1983. He received
rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological
Seminary, earned his B.A. in computer science in Yeshiva College,
and M.A. in English Literature from City College. Afterwards, Rav
Taragin served as the rabbi of the Fifth Avenue Synagogue, taught
Tanach and Talmud in Yeshiva University, and taught Talmud in
Columbia University. Rav Taragin serves currently as Ra”M and
Mashgiach of overseas students at Yeshivat Har Etzion, and heads
the Saks Leadership Program.
Dr. Shmuel Wygoda
Dr. Shmuel
Wygoda is the Dean of the Yaakov Herzog College in Alon Shvut. He
teaches the philosophy of Emanuel Levinas in the Beit Midrash.
Rav Oded Yisraeli
Rav
Oded Yisraeli served as the rabbi of Kibbutz Migdal Oz for
thirteen years. He is an alumnus of Yeshivat Shaalvim. Rav Oded
holds a Ph.D. in Jewish
Philosophy from Hebrew University.
Mrs. Yael Ziegler
Yael
Ziegler went to Beth Jacob high school in Philadelphia. She
received a B.A. from Stern College for Women, and an M.A. in Tanach
from Bar-Ilan University. Yael studied in MaTaN for three years. She
teaches Tanach in Midreshet Moriah, MaTaN, and Migdal Oz.
